Boro rail link to London set for December

Upgrading has been completed at Middlesbrough Railway Station to allow for a direct link to London, TeessideLive reports. Driver training and test runs have begun, and the new service using high-speed Azuma trains in due to start in December.

The platform improvement is being funded with £22.5m from the Tees Valley Combined Authority, with the government committing £9.65m and a further £2.45m for design and development.
